My Left Feels Right Again (Wedding Ring Found!)

My Wedding Ring: Found! My left hand feels right again because today I experienced a truly happy ending to a story. A week and a half ago I lost my wedding ring while mowing the lawn. Today my wife found my , also while mowing the lawn, and now it is back on my left hand where it belongs. For the entire time that my ring was lost my hand felt wrong. I even went out and bought a cheap mood ring (and a matching one for my wife!) so I would have something to wear on my ring finger so I would not be distracted by the absence of the “ring feeling.”

I have included a poor quality image of the found ring (taken with an camera hooked up as a webcam to my laptop).

  • A number of people have commented that they like the pink light that is illuminating the ring. I assure you that I did not spend the time to setup special lighting to compliment the pink gold in the ring. That light is actually from the EyeToy. The EyeToy has two LEDs: one glows blue when the camera has power and the other glows red when the camera is recording. Both LEDs are bright enough to cast light a few feet. In this case I got the camera close to the ring. Really nice effect for a no effort shot.

I am kind of amazed at how well the EyeToy deals with close-ups. The manual focus allows for sharp focus on really really close objects but the depth of field becomes outrageously small. Look at the photo of my ring closely and you will see that very little of the ring is focus. I am sure this is going to come in handy again.

OMG! Now you *can* get that hd pvr from the cable company! quick, go back to the mall and trade in the replacement rings for that pvr. Kim will be happy, regardless of whether you want cable or not!! :)

  • We only got one replacement ring: Kim’s. She will not part with her new ring no matter what. I need to post a picture. It is an elaborate and confusing ring (called “the aztec” according to one salesperson).

I will forgoe getting a new ring for now. Kim still wants to buy me one though.
